Use a handkerchief animation to save the environment

Many of us use tissue papers but not a handkerchief. I think it a simple choice that we have got to switch from tissue papers to a handkerchief. So why not let the handkerchief speak about it.
Hopefully many people will see this and I wish it make some difference.
Use a handkerchief from Rajveer Singh Rathore on Vimeo.
Next I am thinking to come up with a poster that should be pasted on around tissue paper containers. Which will be a reminder for people to think about using a handkerchief before pulling out a tissue paper.
I have used some non English words in the video, sorry if you don’t understand these:
- Hero Hiralal is a Hindi movie where Hero wears the handkerchief.
- Pocket me rocket hai is another Hindi movie where Hero talks about having a rocket in his pocket.
- I think “Lale di jaan” means “My Dear” in English.
- ‘Mama always said from Forest Gump movie’ is replaced with ‘Mamaji said’ which is ‘Uncle said’ in Hindi.
Update:
First comment on this post made me realize that I should have also taken care of some hows and whys. Sorry for not doing that earlier!
I belong to Indian culture and have grown up in a middle class family like many others where use of tissue papers never took place. But the hygienic aspect never got compromised. Today I follow the same habit and still use a handkerchief that I hand-wash regularly before it gets too dirty. In exceptional situations like if I get cold then I blow my nose with a tissue paper and trash it – but that’s a rare case. I think I would know when to do what, to take care of health concerns. On the other side there are natural situations when I get sudden sneeze/s, I can’t imagine to expect a tissue paper box to be lying next to me everywhere. I also can not expect to run looking for it. Rather I would feel comfortable if I have a handkerchief, so do people around me will. I have seen people in more odd situations like when I am traveling in a bus or train, who will find a tissue paper there – the one who carry them, then why not a handkerchief. Why waste paper!
If I am able to save around 10 tissue papers everyday, and to do that if have to dedicate 5 minutes to hand-wash a handkerchief. I will always choose to use the handkerchief. What if many people change from tissue papers to handkerchief? I think it will reduce the number of flushing trees.
I can afford the paper and it’s a luxury but the planet can no longer afford! May be I wouldn’t have initiated this discussion if I was grown up in a different culture. I have adopted few things from other lifestyles that are better than how I was living. I see a point in this approach because I have been following it without wasting energy or other natural resources while being healthy – just like many others with same approach. So the point is not to bias anyone but to share the other side of possibilities which may or may not be adopted by everyone

I feel some good purpose in this presentation, but I can’t get the point. May be it is a triviality in your culture, but in other countries we do not understand how tissue papers are related to global warming etc. You should develope your point of view.
Personally, I think global processes are only a bit related to human activity. We can’t stop global warming or a new boulder-period which scientists predict to come in a few thousand years. To shift these processes is much above our capabilities.

@Yurij: I did not realize that due to culture triviality this video will need the explanation for it’s purpose. Thanks for raising the concern, I have updated the post to describe the same.

before watching the video i read ur piece, but then i also read vat yurij had to stay. Than i read your reply too, and now i watched the video.Gud message….this planet is a global village now…understanding each others culture is very important…. but if mankind wants we can contribute to lessen global warming by changing smaller things that effect our daily life. But different cultures have so many different ways of doing things. To change this as said by Yurij is way above our capabilities.
