Great online CSS reference with live demos

Paul O’Brien and Tommy Olssen got together and delivered a book The Ultimate CSS Reference that teaches the practical use of CSS in combination with the specifications that how CSS is supposed to work for a good balance. The book is available for purchase on Amazone. I don’t think The Ultimate CSS Reference is suitable for absolute beginners, since it targets someone who is looking for the in-depth, accurate, and beautifully presented CSS reference.

Here comes the best part, if you do not desire to purchase the book and still want to experience the whole of CSS nitty-gritty. There is also a CSS reference website, which is based on The Ultimate CSS Reference with some additions and changes made by SitePoint’s editors. It was opened to the public in Jan, 2008 after these guys had really worked hard to make it the most comprehensive and latest reference. I think they have done a great job by explaining CSS. Great content with suitable examples is easy to follow and explained very well, also written in a friendly and pleasing tone. I can assure that if anyone goes through the whole of it, he/she will definitely add more power to his CSS knowledge.

CSS live demos add more butter on the bread where you can check the each reference live in action. It’s really helpful when you are dealing with something new, in such case it becomes easier for you to understand the use of something new in CSS. Also you shall feel great while trying your hands on CSS3 pseudo-classes, pseudo-elements, mozilla and IE extensions.
